Job Description:

Promote and advocate for the World of Wonders (WOW) Science Museum
-
Work to fulfill the mission of the Museum: to offer hands-on, science-based exhibits and programs to stimulate discovery for all ages
-
Develop, prepare, and manage materials for all WOW educational programs and events including, but not limited to, field trips, mobile museum programs, science camps, birthday parties, and after school programs
-
Promote, coordinate, and deliver WOW educational programs (see above)

Assist with museum logistics and daily operations including register coverage, guest services, and volunteer management.

Prepare for and participate in community outreach, including participation in community events, science fairs, and general external program promotion.

Communicate regularly with the museum team regarding program and purchasing needs, personal availability, and opportunities for programing growth.

Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising events.

Assist with the development and implementation of Museum policy.

Report to the Director of World of Wonders Science Museum for other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
Associate of Arts Degree, or equivalent, in science, communications, education, or related field.

Experience in child care, teaching, or working with students in any capacity.

Experience developing and delivering educational programs, preferably in scientific fields.

Effective oral and written communications, education, or related field.

Strong organizational skills.

Basic computer skills (email, google doc, Etc.)

Adept teamwork and communication skills: able to support others and foster a positive work place.

A sincere desire to support the mission and work for the WOW Museum.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Teaching Credentials.

Bachelors Degree, or equivalent in science, communication’s, education, or related field.

Spanish Language fluency.
